Trying to connect 4-20MA to 0-5V Linear Analog sensor to pi 3

Hi,

I am trying to connect to connect 4-20MA to 0-5V Linear Analog sensor to pi 3. I have 10 sensors I’d like to connect.
Ideally I can have bi-directional communication with the analog sensors.

Any hat or external part you would recommend would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @firesburger and welcome to our forum.

I would recommend this product: Waveshare High-Precision ADC HAT ADS1263 10-Ch 32-Bit for Raspberry Pi - RobotShop

Here is the wiki page where you can see more info about it: https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/High-Precision_AD_HAT

I hope this helps.

Hi @igor_X, thank you for taking the time to respond to my question.

So after digging through the datasheet of the existing product I am using. I realized their using relays as well to regulate the voltage.

I also realized that the sensors are Analog 0-7500Ω senders, 4-20mA, 0-5V

Should I incorporate something like this: https://www.robotshop.com/products/sequent-microsystems-8-relays-8-layer-stackable-hat-raspberry-pi to deal with the high voltage?

How would one go about this?

Hi @firesburger !

Yes, if you need a lot of relays on Raspberry Pi, these shields from Sequent Microsystems are good choice!
