Hi i have a question about a project that i have. I have an old truck camper (camper that sit in the box of a pick up) with a pop-up roof. The lift system for the roof need replacement and i was looking into electric or pneumatic lift systeme. The roof lift about 18 inch but it could be a bit more if need be and It weight about 300lbs . I saw the Firgelli Automations 24" Stroke 150lb Force Linear Actuator that seem good even if the stroke is longer then needed and i wanted advice as it is my first time working with that kind of equipement. I would need 4 actuators and they would need to be connected together and lift at same time.
Is it a realistic project and what other equipement would i need to complete the built? I would like a remote control. I have a small battery bank in the camper but have room to make it bigger if need be
Hello @yori and welcome to the RobotShop forum,
You could use this remote control system:
However, as you need to control 4 actuators (which would exceed the current draw of the board) you will also need an SPDT Relay (rated 12A at least), you can find more information about this here:
You will also need a 12VDC battery or power adapter that can provide enough current. And the manufacturer also recommends using a 10A fuse to protect the remote system.
Good luck with your project!
Hi geraldine, thanks for your answer. It does help a lot!!!
