I am trying to program Basic Atom 28 on Bot Board II using Basic Atom Pro IDE. Basic Atom Pro IDE is not detecting the Basic Atom 28.I am unable to connect.I went though the serial troubleshooting instructions you guys have posted but it didnt help. Please tell me anything I am missing out here.
If you are saying that the Atom PRO ide is not able to communicate with an Basic Atom 28, that may be by design. There are different IDEs for the Pro and the Non-pro. If this is correct, try downloading the IDE for the non-pro and see if that works. If not or if you meant to say you had a pro and it does not work, we would need additional information as to your setup.
Like do you have a standard RS232 connection or are you going through a USB to serial adapter…
If you’re on a laptop you may have USB power issues. Some require a powered USB hub to work.
Please read this post top to bottom carefully. It is very likely your problem is in there. Read all of it, even the SSC-32 stuff as they ALL pertain to serial port issues…
The Atom is installed correctly. When the board is power the green lED lights up.The spearker keeps buzzing and all the 3 LED are turned ON on the board.
I also use SSC32 here but the USB to serial adapter is able to communicate with it without any problems.
I will go through the links in the above post of your and let you know how it goes.
I am still having no luck communicating with Basic Atom 28.
I am working on a desktop PC with windows vista and I am using a USB to serial converter made by BELKIN since I dont have a real COM port on my system.
I am able to communicate with SSC 32 board withount any problems.
I hope you will be able to suggest me somthing with all these information.
What driver chip set does this one use? To find this out open the device manager: (I right click on my Mycomputer item in the start menu and choose properties, and then click on the Device manager item in the System control panel). In the device manager, look at the ports (COM & LPT) and see what entry is there for your comm port.
You could try selecting the basic atom 28 in the drop down menu in the IDE. There is also an auto option. The first time I ran the IDE no option was selected which is why it enver connected for me! Hopefully this helps.
