Trendnet TV-IP110NW on sale

:exclamation: Edit: They ran out :frowning:

Hi guys,

I’ve seen a lot of interest in this handy little IP camera here on the forum, so I thought I would let you guys know that I found it on sale at buy.com for $50, which is about $20 cheaper than normal. I don’t want to get in hot water over advertising for a faceless megacorp like buy.com, so please let me know if this isn’t the place to post!

I ordered two. Wifi for everyone! :smiling_imp:

These cameras are products that we use in our robotic pursuits; so they are on-topic. No problems!

I have an IP camera that I just ordered, more expensive, might be of interest as well:

I ordered this one:

Foscam FI8918W (Black) Wireless IP Camera

That one’s going to be significantly more stylish as a PTZ unit than my stripped-down Trendnet! It looks like a pretty good buy, too.

Yeah, I thought it looked pretty cool! I can just see it on top of one of my 'bots.

It’s also got a relay output, and an alarm input, and tilt/pan. I suspect one could switch between tilt/pan and use the two servo (R/C?) feeds to run a 'bot like a joystick as well! We’ll see…

P.S. “PTZ”?

Alan, I don’t know full details of the problem, but when I tried your foscam link, my antivirus program declared a malware alert and blocked my access to the site.

PTZ = Pan/Tilt/Zoom  That’s the common designation for gimbaled cameras compared to their static form.

Good to know!

Let us know how it works out!

I ordered one of the trendnet cams for tinkering. I’m also interested in the foscams and came across the sdk for them (below).

drivehq.com/file/df.aspx/pub … DKV1.7.pdf

That’s pretty great. Are you planning to be able to control the camera gimbal directly from I/O?

The camera SDK could be very useful!

Some changes to the firmware could allow us an interface on the camera that would both send video accept commands to be passed on to a 'bot.

What else do you know about it? Link?

Thanks,
