Treat-Dispensing Robot, Motor Replacement

I have a dog treat-dispensing robot which has a dying motor. I’ve already had three other robots die out completely after tons of use. The company who makes them is not quite as helpful as I would like them to be so here we are…

This time around I’ve decided to just fix the issue myself. Pulled one apart and found these motors inside. There are 3 in total.

[I can only upload one photo per post so I’ll have to add another with the circuit board]

Am I correct in assuming that the circuitry on the back is their own rather than a generic motor board? It looks like the Brushed DC Motor (RM1A) … but there also appear to be variations of the same motor available, each with different appendages.

Obviously I hope to order the right ones… I fully expect to fail at the swap but I would like to give it a go anyway. I’ve done some circuitry work before. Very little some.

Thank you for at least reading this, and for any help you may offer.

Hi @Xolotl and welcome to our forum.

Yes, these motor circuit boards seem like custom made for this product.

But it seems like they are not too complicated. I see only motor connections, one capacitor and a connector. These boards are probably made for easier assembly of the product. You can reproduce these easily.

It is hard to find exact motors, but you can try.

See what we have: Search results for: 'brushed DC motor' - RobotShop

Maybe some of these motors from the beginning of the search could fit.

Good luck!
