-LOL!!!

remote

I don’t know if there is already a page with the answer to this question, but how did you get the bot to work with you r/c remote?

Also, those are some bona fied knitting needles!

This is NOT a "robot"

This is NOT a ā€œrobotā€ - it is posted as ā€œSomething elseā€.

If you click the link to more info in the post, you will find the first version of this, and the explanation:

I had an old RC car. I took out the electronics, and put it together like this, with a propellar.

It is essentially the same RC car, I just took away the wheels and chassis, and added some new stuff, like a propellar.

This is just a very simple thing, for fun. Take your old RC, rip the electronics, and put it in use for something else fun, that is what it is about

Yes to your question.
Yes to your question.

GEES!! what did she
GEES!! what did she knit?!?!!?

You know - womens magazines

You know - womens magazines - "You should try this really nice thing"… she tried, and I got the sticks

However, as written somewhere else, I have seen these in knit-hobby-stores (that I of course visit all the time :D) - they should be easy to get hands on.

Increase the angle

Hi Fritsl,

I have been playing arround with prop driven vehicles a little, next one try and make the prop lean backward (from a side view) about 20 degrees. You’ll be pleased with the power increase

Cool! Post soon
Cool! Post soon

"This is NOT a robot" heheh
Reminds me of a conversation between a man and a woman on the couch. ; )

Amazing! I’ve got a crashed

Amazing! I’ve got a crashed RC plane in the closet, along with an old RC car I don’t use anymore (remember Herpe?). So many parts I can harvest. Why did it never occur to me to build something fun with them?

Sadly, we don’t get nearly as much snow as you do – we did get about 6" last week, and that stuck around for a few days, but it finally all finished melting a few days ago. I missed my chance!

But I really like the ā€œslide around rather than rollā€ approach. I live near a lake – maybe I’ll make an airboat, more like Trata 1. I guess that means I’ll also have to make a full-size boat, so I can go get the R/C boat when it flips over or the battery runs out

Dan

There’s definetly potential

There’s definetly potential in boats!

And some choises to be made; sailing in or on wather… Let’s see what you come up with, I guess I will have to make a boat myself! (When the ice melts)

Or you could go out and buy

Or you could go out and buy some new swimming kit instead of a full sized boat  I used mine a lot…

Biggest problem with most boats is that they dont really like water. Engines and controllers need to be pretty big (they draw quite some amps) or you’ll burn out lot’s of $$$ :frowning: (or you can just go really slow… but looking at the Trata that’s not the funniest option)

If it’s to cold you could always use the good old fishingrod with a tennisball instead of a hook… (make a little hook to grap on your boat)

Here’s a little boat I build from balsa, a hydroplane, probably the closest you will get if you want to be ā€œaboveā€ the water  It does about 50km an hour with a standard car engine (540 size, 13 turns).

My wife bought our son one

My wife bought our son one of these boats for Christmas. It’s been too cold to try it out yet, but I immediately thought about hacking it with some intelligence.

However, these boats are pretty fast. I wonder what sort of sensors I’d need to keep the robot ahead of the changing environment.

Or I just need to wait for my son to crash it really bad so I can get to the parts. ; j
