Tracks on the Johnny 5

Hi

I am using the johnny 5 with the torso. The torso moves no problem using the SSC-32 and for the tracks i am using the Sabertooth. I pulled the track down to see what was happening with the motors inside because when moving the motors using Visual Sequencer i hear them going but the tracks don’t move. What is happening here? is there not enough power? I have a 12vdc battery connected to the Sabertooth and 2 6vdc batteries connected to the SSC-32 with the VS1=VL jumper removed.

Well, tell us what you could see. Are the motor shafts rotating but the hubs/sprockets not rotating. This should be a very easy problem to figure out.

everything is rotating when i took off the tracks to see what was happening but once the tracks were attached it didnt move only heard it didn’t see any movement.

We need pictures…

or a video, if you can do that

What are the specs of the batteries you are using?

What is the mAh capacity?

What is the gauge of the wires used to connect the battery to the Sabertooth?

What pulse values are you actually sending to the SSC-32 for the Sabertooth? 1000uS? 2000uS? You may want to connect it up to LynxTerm for some testing.

Did you remember to remove the red wire from the Sabertooth before connecting it to the SSC-32?

is there a set screw where the hub goes on the motor shaft and is it tight? without the track installed can you slow/stall the motor by grabing onto the hub and holding it or does the shaft keep going round and round?

at the moment i can’t get pictures uploaded but the is no set screw to hold the hub on the motor shaft. I don’t see where i should be screwing it onto the motor shaft. That might be the problem. How do i go about doing that?

LOL WOW guys!! :stuck_out_tongue: I didn’t see the screws to hold the hub onto the motor shaft!! Don’t I feel like a numbskull!!

Sigh…
