Tracked robot

Tracked mobile platform - still in the design phase.

  • RP5 chassis
  • solarbotics L298 driver + TO220 heatsink
  • Xbee module + explorer board (sparkfun)
  • PIC 18F4431 + breakout board (perfboard home made)
  • sensor turret based on HITEC hobby servo.
  • future sensors - IR, wheel encoders
  • control station based on netbook + Xbee + Xbee explorer USB

project is modelled insolidwork, circuit schematics are done in eagle 5.6.0 light.

microcontroller code is written in CCS C under MPLAB, control station terminal is written in C#.net

err

The rules here at LMR states

Do not post as a robot if you have not built anything. An idea alone is not enough to start a project page. Make sure you have at least a picture of your work in progress. If you do not have anything but an idea, please post a blog entry about it for a start.

So, until your parts start comming together, please post this as a Blog… But it looks like it@s gonna be a fun robot to work on, though.

ahm…

chassis and motor driver already assembled, main board is cut and in soldering proccess, rest of hardwere is on its way.

i can post a pic of all the parts lying next to each other, but I think the model is much more interesting.

(BTW - since its a fairly detailed design - to call it an idea will be less than accurate).
