Took apart my iRobot Scooba 5000 series. Got mystery part

Hello all,

I have been picking up used iRobots to vacuum and mop my house and have been pretty successful in keeping them going. Today I took apart my Scooba because it didn’t seem to be releasing fluid and I thought perhaps the lines were clogged. They were not. So while putting it back together, I came across this mystery part on my table and I haven’t a clue where it goes. I’ve searched online and can’t find the answer.

Anyone know?

Of course, I still have the issue of it not dispensing fluid besides just a little trickle. It will run an entire battery’s worth and the dirty tank will have hardly anything in it and the clean tank will be full still.

Help me RobotShop, you are my only hope.
Robert

Hi Robert!

The “mystery” part you are showing in the picture is a plastic part that prevent the squeegees to fall off the robot. You can refer to the picture below.

As for the problem you currently have, it can be due to the pump. You can try to prime the pump.
If it is still not working, you would maybe need to replace it. Unfortunately, we do not have this part in our catalog.

Ahh- very nice! I did not notice that little piece when I was taking it apart so when I unscrewed that screw, then turned it over, it fell to the table.

Thanks so much for that. I’ll get my little bot back to mopping DWs floors this afternoon.
