To make a basic pick and place robotic arm

I have to make a project which involves a robotic arm which basically picks up an egg and place it on a plane perpendicular to previous one.
The problem is I have no idea about robotics and just passed my high school.
S i need basic guidance where to start??

If you need to design one from scratch, that will take quite a lot of learning - a bit too much to “teach” in a forum. If you can use a kit, then we carry quite a few above which would work well.

You could make custom gripper additions to easily lift an egg.
