The XLRobots XLR-ONE Personal Robot

The XLR-ONE Robot is a sleek and stylish 30" EZ-Robot powered robotic platform reminiscent of the robots we grew up watching in the movies. The XLR-ONE has a finished, professional design which trumps the common “erector set” unfinished look normally found in similar robots. The XLR-ONE is the Droid you’ve been looking for! The XLR-ONE features: · * Classic Sci-Fi design. · * Full motion robot arms with 5 points of movement * Claws open and close for grabbing and holding objects * Wrist, elbow, and shoulder have 180 degrees of motion * Head has 180 degrees of horizontal motion and 100 degrees of up down motion. The XLR-ONE's eye gives the XLR-ONE the gift of sight. The robot is equipped with an EZ-Robot WiFi Camera, powered directly by the EZ-B v4 WiFi Robot Controller. The XLR-ONE's drive train is powered by 4 HD Continuous High Torque Robot servos, which provide plenty of power to move your robot with ease. The XLR-ONE has a utility backpack that stores the EZ-Robot controller and provides additional battery expansion capacity. XLR-ONE utilizes a custom XLR-ONE themed EZ-Builder app that allows you to control the robot via your Android or IOS mobile device. The App: The XLR-ONE custom themed control app utilizes all of the functions of the robot right out of the box right on your mobile device The robot is fully expandable via EZ-Builders simple drag and drop interface. In addition to XLR-ONE app you can control the XLR-ONE via PC and voice commands. Check us out on Kickstarter. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/635461738/the-xlr-one-personal-robot-companion

Good luck!

The head looks like from the star wars mech droid.

Even if the kickstarter fails you could contact backers to make one for them. About making a 3d printer farm i’d rely on RepRap Prusa, rather than Makerbot; in my experience they are more reliable, cheap to build, cheaper filament and upgradeable.

You could make a littler version using micro servos:)

Thanks for the info

Thanks, i will keep that in mind, especially about the backers. I intially went to kickstarter for some exposer, if i get the funding great, if not im still selling thru my website and still making and designing more parts an bots.

Alt Heads for the XLR-ONE Robot.

The XLR-ONE has 3 different themes. The CI-Borg, The OMNI-Retro and the Chappie Inspired theme.

The Chappie head is the most detailed, it has 2 x 8x8 adafruit led matrix for eyes, independent moving ears and upper and lower face pipes for expressions.

Really beautiful design

Really beautiful design Anthony, I really like the continuous head/body movements during conversation, makes him look very alive. Can you share some of the tech details? What does it run? What level of autonomy does it have? Can it visually navigate? What natural language capabilities does it have? Is it open source, so users can add capabilities to the SW stack? Good luck with the campaign.
