I am a amateur replica prop builder who is looking to build an armour of aluminum with an endo skeletal frame with plates that attach with lights sound and servo motors. Arduino at the helm. This will be a redesign of the War-Machine from the Iron-man series.
Now the trouble I am having is my own ignorance and my lack of education in the community of robotic's, robotic parts and the language regarding reference terms. I by no means am an idiot, and I am not looking for a quick fix or someone to do my home work. Prior to this adventure, I have had no experience in this type of thing at all. But I have educated myself in metal fabrication by means of hammer forming and metal casting, but certain things I need to order. This will be a full scale build that can be worn by myself. So I am asking you the community to set me one the right path. I would like to say thanks in advance...G.Murdoch
too many things to do, and so many things to build. maybe start with the helmet or something. then start part by part. there’s a lot of functions to involve that makes me think whether one arduino can do them all. maybe use an arduino uno, or start with a kit that has at least 2 servo motors. am thinking there’s at least two servos for the faceplate (though one mght be enough). then LEDs for the eyes.
here’s a few links to people who’ve done them in some ways.
I’ve read both of those way back. I believe that I will need several arduino units. I have already begun working on the legs. Nothing to show as yet. But I do appreciate your input and look forward to reading more…
Oh and I forgot to mention. Rule number one, do the helmet last. I have made 5 from pepakura and fibreglass. I have one 3D printed. The helmet will be last. I did however found a supplier of titanium, but I still need a small metal lathe…
