We have finally got the Tri-Track rover and the Base Rotate kits in stock! I will add a list of the brackets required to build Johnny 5 today. May the force be with you… 8)

Hmmmmm, I could put one of those base rotate kits on top of WALTER’s new body when I get the decks made.

Hmmmmmmmmm, nice place to put an arm to be rotated.

cool!! will it work with other servos tahn the ones mention you think? it should be very similar no?

the base rotate kit will be great on my far away project: put a air soft gun on my ch3-r hexapod

furst i have to know how to program it

that’s not funny :imp:

AAAAHhHhhhh,i cant wait to get that…

What I have always wanted and it’s not even Xmas!

Yes, of course, but the real question we all want to know Mike is if you will break open your piggy bank?

:stuck_out_tongue:

Ordered mine yesterday…soooooo excited!

Lucky

No, because when I pick it up to shake it I can still hear money shaking around which means there is still more room in there…

LOL!

Will it be possible to purchase just the Panels, standoffs, and other hardware? A Chassis Kit without the Motors and Tracks?

I’ve already got several sets of Tracks as well as several pairs of motors.

Thanks,

Kenny

Jim,

Are you only going to offer the Tracked System as the Tri-Track Rover or will you eventually (sooner is better than later) offer it as the original Rover configuration (both front and back sprokets at the same level)?

TCIII

Email me and we will see what we can do. I will try to help you.

I do plan to offer the other style ans well as several much larger styles. I hope to complete the original rover style this summer. I’m sorry, but I can’t be more specific than that right now.

Jim,

Thanks for the response and the update of your plans for the Tracked System.

A larger Tracked System than you are producing now would really fit into my future plans!

Hiya Jim,
The TriTrack kit looks like a decent start…

Which of your motor controllers do you recommend using with it?

I plan on having a full J5 torso/arms/head/toolbox on it…

Will the included DC motors handle that ok?

Also, I plan on using four Lynx wireless PS2 controllers to control it…

What do you recommend as the interfacing electronics between the PS2 controllers and the motor controllers?

A mini ABB I assume? I think I read somewhere it would handle up to four wireless PS2 controllers ok?

Also, will the ABB handle two SSC32 controllers ok?

Also I plan to modify it so it elevates like the real J5…

Thanks
MJL

I have been using the Sabertooth 2 x 5 for my testing.

Yes, they should be fine.

4 controllers can be run at the same time, but I have not read here that 4 can be connected to a Bot Board. I went into more detail in a post to you yesterday.

The Bot Board can handle 20 SSC-32’s, but you shouldn’t need more than one for a Johnny 5 robot.

Cool.

Hiya Jim,
Thanks for the info…

I assume that I can’t just hook the PS2 controllers right up to the servo and motor controllers…

So I need some type of translation electronics to handle/interpret the commands from the PS2s and forward them on to the servo and motor controllers…

I thought this was the ABB? Or is it the SSC32?

Maybe a combination of both?

I haven’t ever used the PS2s, ABB, SSC32, or any of the motor controllers you offer yet; so I’m trying to get a feel as to how everything works together…

My apologies for the naive questions…

Thanks

Hi Jim,

Can you say if the much larger styles will have a sprocket to sproket wheel base of between 18 to 24 inches?
