The RB-Fir-124 Actuator Position Indicator

How is the RB-Fir-124 wired up to a linear actuator with a potentiometer position sensor.

The actuator has 3 wires coming from it for the potentiometer (2 references and signal). And 2 power wires.

The RB-Fir-124 has 3 wires - 2 for power and one for signal.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rob Greener.

Which actuator do you have? If it has three wires, that means the ground and voltage pins are shared between the DC motor and the potentiometer. If you have five wires, the potentiometer has its own power pins.

I have the 110-Lb. Capacity Linear Actuator — 5.90in. Stroke, Model# LD-ACME - it has 5 wires - 2 wires for power and 3 wires for the potentiometer.
The potentiometer wires are - 2 reference and 1 signal. The power is 1 positive (+12V) and 1 ground.

The white wire is almost always the signal. The other two wires are power, with red as power and black as ground.
