I just bought a new $89 10 megapixle cheapy camera for general purpose use. I got tied of using my 2megapixle cell phone camera. The new camera works well except the focus is a little slow, and close-ups requires a steady hand. Here are two sample shots that were taken. I croped the image but thats all.
Looks good, where’d ya get it?

buy a cheap tripod and the steady hand factor for closeups will go away too.

It’s a Fuji Finepix A100 that came with 1gig SD card, small camera bag and photo coupons. I bought it off walmart.com and used the site-to-store free shipping. It takes good pictures and is very easy to use but the focus can be hard for close-ups. For $89 it is a good value and the camera does an excellent job of face recognition and red eye removal. If you are looking for a cheapy camera, this is a good camera for general purpose carry-a-long use. My next camera is going to be a Nikon D-SLR
@ Eddie - Yeah I got an old tripod that I use for my video camera. I used the trypod for the second image. I set the auto timer for 2 seconds so I didn’t have to touch the camera either. 8)
My sister just bought a new cheap digital camera. Takes VERY good pictures. It was refurbished though.

Was $89 a few weeks ago, they must have raised the price.
OK, you’re talking about a digital camera for general purpose use. Got it. I also see the Nikon CoolPix L20 on sale for not much more.
I thought you were talking about a camera for mounting on our robots!
I’ve been using a Nikon for quite a few years. About time to upgrade to something like the Nikon D-SLR (or D2?).
Thanks for the URL.
