Technical help!

Hello

I am getting in touch with you for a simple reason. I am doing a practicle training at the imperial college in london. My project requires to position a kind of scanner wich can be considered as a box of 666047 mm and needs to plug in to a 25 way cable. The problem I have is that right now the positionning of the scanner is made by hand wich is too slow. I then had this idea of using a robot to position the scanner. I have a lot of money for my project but not a huge amount either…This is why when I came across your website I was really interested because you seem to sell small robots not very expensive. I was wondering if one of your robot would suit my problem.

The positionning needs to be quite precise: 0,1mm in every direction and angles should be as precise too. There is one more thing too the claw part would be useless as the scanner will be fixed onto it.

The last important thing you should know is that if the robot does suit are needs we will be interested in buying more than one.

I will be very happy to give any missing detail if you require some more.

hopping you will be able to help me.

Sincerelly yours

Thomas

what is the range of motion in X, Y, and Z axis required for your scanner? holding 0.1mm in a 50x50x50mm range of motion is a significantly different problem from holding 0.1mm in a 600x600x600mm box.

 yes of course sorry…
what I want is to position preciselly a scanner over a production line. The scanner needs to remain flat. For now we are interested in having a precise position around 15 inches on the diagonal of the Z and X or Y axis … sorry if my explanations are not very accurate…but I’ve never had to deal with robots before

so I guess its more concerning your first problem! Positionning something in a box of 505050mm. The position does not need to be precise everywhere but around the 14 inches on the diagonal wich would aproximatelly be over the production line!

hope you all understood…

I tried to do a drawing on paint but did not manage to attach it to the message
