Teaching the lynx 6 with rios

I bought an older lynx 6 arm that came with an ssc12 and basic stamp. I was looking at purchasing the ssc-32 and the RIOS software. When I teach the arm with the ps2 controller or the mouse are the positions remembered with i play back in automatic? Not sure as there are no encoders on the servos.

thank you,

Yes the arm will be able to accurately and reliably repeat previously stored sequences. Servos are closed loop. We call it Local Closed Loop, because the controller doesn’t have the ability to monitor the servos position, as in, read an encoder, but the servo has the ability to monitor it’s own position. Hence the term “Local” as aposed to “Global”. So the SSC-32 tells the servo to go to a certain position, and the servo knows when it has arived.
