Tarot 650 Frame

Hi to u all. I recently bought TMotor MN3508. Originally I got them to install them on a Hunter V-Tail 500. But when I received them I noticed that they were to big for the frame. Now I plan to get a Tarot frame 650 and a Multiwii Flight Controller to try them out. Please help me choose the appropriate ESCs for this configuration. Tell me if u think is a good idea. I was planning to upload the same configuration sketch of my crazy fly. Thank u for reading.

Hi Hiram,

Those MN3508 are beasts, you will like them. You can mount them to your VTail 500 if you want but you have to mount the arms upside-down. So the bottom plate with the holes is on top instead of on the bottom.
This way, you can mount the motor on top. But they might be a bit too big for the frame anyway.

The IronMan 650 will be easier as there is nothing in the way of the motor mount.
You have to know which battery and propeller you want to use on the motor in order to choose the ESC.

18A TMotor or 30A Lynxmotion will work and they are about the same size.

Here is the chart about the motor:

You should be good to start with the same config as your Crazy2Fly but PID tuning will more likely be needed to eliminate oscillations.

Im trying to order the Flip Multiwii from robotshop. Is nowhere to be found. Have you discontinued the part? Which flight would you advice me to buy for this type of setup. I have the MN3508s and the T18s.

Hi Hiram,

The “Flip Multiwii” is no longer available as we have a lot of problems with the supplier.
We have an identical board (other than it’s red) that is available on Lynxmotion and very soon (Probably tomorrow) on RobotShop.

If you wish, you can contact us on the support center and we can sell you one via RobotShop.

It’s now online HERE
The version we sell on RobotShop is without pins, so you can add the one you want (Strait or Bent)
