Tamiya Tracked Chassis and Pololu Dual Motor Controller

Part numbers:

RB-Tam-27 Tamiya Tracked Chassis kit
RB-Tam-32 Tamiya 4 Speed Double Gearbox
RB-Pol-16 Pololu Low Voltage Dual Serial Motor Controller

I am still working with these along with my Arduino UNO microcontroller. But I have put this project aside for the time being as I was having difficulty maintaining battery life. I also had some problems getting the motors to make left and right turns reliably. So if anyone else has worked with these items I would appreciate some advice.

it is important to note that the motors might have minor differences that make them turn faster or slower. Thus, when trying to go straight or turn, the results might not be as perfect as you would expect.

Also, if you put lots of torque on the motors, they will consume much more power than if they can run more freely. So you might want to use a gearbox that further reduces their speed but gives them more torque.
