I recently obtained the Tamiya 70094 Gear Set (Double Motor) and the model 70100 Track and Wheel Set, and found out that they are not compatible. The hex axle of the gear set is it is too small in diameter to fit the Sprocket wheel. Has anybody encountered this problem and found a solution for this? What part (any part) is intended to be used with the hex axle of the Gear Set? Any help is appreciated.
I am surprised to find this incompatibility because Tamiya advertises these items together as if they are to be used with each other and that was the reason I bought it together.
The 70094 is a walking elephant model which uses one half of a gear box (which appears to be the 3-speed Crank Axle Gear Box). If the axle can fit into the main bore of the drive sprocket, it may just be a question of aligning it correctly.
The two should work together perfectly. These two products are used in the DFRobotShop Rover and they are mass-produced with no variation from product to product. Note however that only two sprockets have the hex bore: the large drive sprocket and small drive sprocket. You need to align the hex shaft perfectly, then press it into the sprocket. If you cannot get it to work, can you send us an image showing the sprocket you are trying to use next to a clear image of the motor itself?
