I’m sure someone must have tried this. Adjusting a saw blade height can be a little bit tricky, trying to crank on the height adjustment handle, and measure for an exact height of the blade at the same time. So, I thought, what if there was an electric motor, by pressing a rocker switch, one could operate a motor, that would slowly turn the crank for me. Of course the motor needs to be slow, reversible and powerful enough to turn the crank. Is this possible? The table saw I have is a Hitachi C10FL.
From what we can see, the current setup uses a hand wheel to adjust the height, correct?
To automate this, you might add a sprocket into the same shaft, and a DC gear motor connected to a sprocket, and a chain between the two.
You would need to find a way to mount the motor at the right place. Speed and direction would be easy to control using a DPDT switch or DC motor controller.
