T-Hex prototype process

Hey that’s great cause I want one.

I started the wiring process for my 4DOF T-Hex. I was using this split tubing wire harness stuff, but it wasn’t really looking all that great. I figured it was about time we stepped up the robot builds to look a little better. I searched the forum and found the site (hobby king) for the wire dressing Zenta uses. I ordered a bunch of different sizes of it! This is so exciting! I got an email from them yesterday saying…
YOUR ORDER MAY TAKE UP TO 45 DAYS TO ARRIVE.

Sigh…

Sounds good Jim!

To bad. :frowning: I guess some parts where out of stock then?

I’d like some stock of wire dressing as well. But my last order to Hobby King for some out-of-stock batteries took about two months…

Maybe you could add the stuff to your product line? I’m sure it would be well received.

Yeah I don’t know if anything’s out of stock. I just ordered the same stuff from a stateside place. Will see if it gets here any faster. lol

We may add some goodies like that when the big website move is complete. But not right now. lol

Didn’t you just do a website move?

Room to hoist images and videos?

Alan KM6VV

The forum and the website are hosted in two completely different places. We just moved and improved the forum. The website is another matter completely.

Ah. Very good.

Here are some images I made this morning. You can click on the image to see the hi-res version. I still need to dress it up a bit, when the wire sleeving gets here. I will also change to aluminum servo horns and add the ground contact foot switches. It’s going to be my favorite bot I can tell.

Yeah it is looking great!

Also looks like you may be having some fun!!!

Yep! 8)

Hey Zenta, I know you talked about this before. But can you refresh my memory about the accurate measuring of the tibia for the Phoenix code? Do you measure the length from the axis pivot to the end of the foot, or do you measure it from the axis pivot to the center of the ball of the end cap? Thanks in advance!

Exactly, thats the most accurate way to measure the tibia length.

Cool pictures! I see you’ve made a cockpit, now you just need a pilot!
Edit: Oh, and a very smart way to place the PS2 receiver. 8)

The PS2 receiver fit perfectly! 8)

Thanks for the reminder. I thought it was the ball at the end.

I still can’t find any suitable models of military people in 1:24 or 1:25 scale. Should be about 3" long… I will try again now that I have a cockpit for him.

boys and there toys. 8)

looks great jim. the ps2 is well fitted as is everything else.

I love the latest photos of the design. I notice the “cocpit” cover and the wireless reciever in the back are nicely integrated into the body panels. Looks great!

That’s beaaaaaaaaaaaaaaautiful! I can see that this prototype is fully hopped up and ready to go… Are those FSRs I see tucked away in the feet? Also, the front nose servo looks like an ideal place to attach an SES tube + airsoft gun.

Or maybe a good-old fashion mandibles to grab stuff with!

Them’s the new foot switches. 8)
