I am looking to create a surfboard simulator. Here are the requirements and the scope of the project. I would like to advise if I can get some from others who have worked in robotics.
Microsoft robotics studio
Four linear servo actuators.
Xbox controller.
Recording of motion.
Open development for additional components.
Project objective.
Surfboard simulator that can bank left, right, up and down as well as rotate slightly side to side. Movements will be programmed with a Xbox controller or joystick. Once movements have been recorded user can upload and shared program with others.
Hi Caarseth!
Welcome to the forum.
This project looks like a big one.
It would be great to see your updates and follow your progress in the community.
A good way to start could be by reading on similar projects accomplished over the internet: https://hackaday.com/2018/10/04/homebrew-linear-actuators-put-the-moves-on-this-motion-simulator/
Depending on the weight you want to lift, I would suggest checking this page: https://www.robotshop.com/en/actuators.html?p=4
RobotShop have some actuator in stock that can go up to 2000Lbs of force.
But note that in your case you will probably wants to choose a High Speed Actuator.
Let me know how it goes.
