SunFounder Raspberry Pi UPS

I just bought a SunFounder PiPower UPS for my Raspberry Pi 4B. Is this compatible with Network UPS Tools (NUT) software that will shut down and restart the Pi as required by the battery state? If not, what software do I use to do this? Without this functionality the UPS is useless for me, because if the power cut is longer than the battery capacity, my SD card will probably get corrupted, and the device will not restart cleanly when power is restored.

Thank you - Rowan

Hi @rowan_bradley and welcome to our forum.

I don’t know about NUT software compatibility, but I’ve found this tutorial for safe shutdown, so I guess that’s it how you can program it: Safe Shutdown for Raspberry Pi using PiPower — SunFounder PiPower documentation

Did you buy this product from RobotShop?

Thank you for this suggestion. It sounds as if this will solve half the problem. But the other half is how to restart the Pi and any running programs when power returns. How do I do this?

Thank you - Rowan

Hi @rowan_bradley ,

I am not sure about this part.

Maybe you can post a question on SunFounder forum https://forum.sunfounder.com/ and their support will help you.
