I intend to create my Arduino robot.

This will be a small obstacle avoiding robot supplied by a 9V battery.

How should the voltage of the DC motor be used in a robot?

Also, before I proceed, please give some tips, or refer me to some links.

A 9V battery is not sufficient to power DC gear motors.
