Struggling to Link RadioLink AT10II switches with WinGui

Hi

The manual for this transmitter is killing me. At one point, I had it working so that if I used a 3 position switch (switch C, I could select between normal, angle and horizon and WinGui would show it switching on the RC Control Settings page. It no longer switches on screen.

I want to set up BARO and MAG, GPS HOME, GPS HOLD and LAND.

I am getting nowhere, and the tutorials from RadioLink don’t go anywhere near these settings.

Right now, the horizontal bars for Aux1 match the switch settings and the green bar goes low, med, high. The red labels on the left are showing HORIZON, no matter where the switch is.

Currently,
Aux 2 is on Variable knob A
Aux 4 is on Variable knob B
Aux 3 is on Variable knob C

I would like to have:
Variable knob A for perhaps adjusting the hover height, (assuming it would set some channel 3 throttle value)
Variable knob B for adjusting the Pitch, and (assuming it would adjust channel 2)
Variable knob C for adjusting the Roll. (assuming it would adjust channel 4)

OR, would I just adjust the little levers (Aileron, Elevator, Rudder and Throttle) to get the drone to hover flat and level.

GOAL:

I am indoors at this time and not trying to “fly” the drone. I am merely trying to get it to lift off the floor without trying to run off on it’s own. It seems very sensitive to moving the weight of the battery forward and backward and I try to be very precise in placement, hoping that calibrating the ACC would help, but how could it adjust for that weight when it’s sitting flat on the floor? Should I have the setting for updating the ACC calibration in flight turned on?

I don’t think it should be this confusing, or maybe I am over thinking this way too much.

Feedback / Advice / Guidance would be most appreciated.

Thanks

TimV

Can you share some print-screens of your settings in WinGUI ?
The switches need to be set once in your transmitter to change values but the setup is done in WinGUI after.

Hi DiaLFonZo

What should I collect for screen shots? The RC Control Settings has Angle = M and Horizon = H in Aux 1

Switch C on the transmitter is set up on this screen. Switch to L = Nothing, Switch C to M Lights up ANGLE, Switch C to H Lights up Horizon.

Horizontal bars on right match switch movements.

Aux1 on the R12DS Receiver is Channel 5

On the transmitter
CH5 SW3: SwC SW2:Nul (defaults)
Normal: 0% UP-UP OFF
ATTL.: 50% CT-UP ON
GPS: 100% DN-UP OFF
Hover: 25% UP-DN OFF
F/S: 75% CT-DN OFF
AUX: 50% DN-DN OFF

Switch 3 I can see is SwC, but what / where is Switch 2? Obviously two switches are involved to give me 6 modes, but without knowing what is meant by SW2 I don’t know where to set it. Switches F and G on the transmitter are 3 position. I’m sure Nul means center or off.

Is Switch 2 another name for the Throttle controller joystick?

Nothing else is set.

Sorry, I’m lost

Thanks,
Tim

Hi

I have an update - progress report. I found the notation in the AT10 manual that says switch SW2 is physical switch B on the transmitter. At this point, when I set SWB backward toward myself, SWC gives me Hover when pushed forward, F/S in the Center and AUX when pulled toward me.

With SWB forward, SWC gives me Normal when forward, ATTI when centered, and GPS when pulled backward toward me.

So, that’s a start.

I have switch A and D set for on / off for channel 9 and channel 10 for my lights when my RC switches arrive.

I’m working trying to figure out the knobs VR(A), VR(B) and VR©.

Hi:

I decided to use Switch E on the transmitter for BARO and MAG. They are selected on Aux2 in WinGui. (Nothing in Center, BARO = down and MAG = UP. The RED LABEL boxes light up properly now when I flip the switches on the transmitter with WinGui running. There is no indication of anything on the transmitter.

I set GPS HOME to down on Switch G, nothing to center position and GPS HOLD to up on Switch G. On WinGui I used AUX 3. The RED LABEL boxes light up properly in WinGui when I flip the switch on the transmitter. There is no indication of anything on the transmitter.

So, It would appear that things are set according to my untrained eye. Am I correct or just hopeful?

Thanks

Take print-screens of your settings (each pages) in WinGUI.
You can as well save the profile and attach it to the post so i can have a look.

Good Morning:

Here we go, pictures! I didn’t capture anything to the right of the sensor graph tab as that is either empty or default setting for file locations.

Thanks,

Tim

I’m getting a message that the .mws file was added (uploaded), but I am not seeing it in the filename list. I tried renaming it to an html file but that doesn’t work. How do I upload this file type?

Ok - You have almost everything set in your WinGUI interface.

Your problem is more about the AT10 i guess, can you take a picture of your AUX CH page on the AT10 ?

Hi:

Here is my Aux-Ch

Channel 9 and Channel 10 are setup for on / off for lights.

We didn’t use ATTI for our projects here.
You can assign each channels to a Switch / Pot manually.

Oh

I’m not sure what that would look like. Do you not assign channel 5 to ATTI?

Right now, the combination of SwB and SwA on the transmitter are what I thought I should be using to get the 6 flight modes according to the manual.

However, I am not clear on what I should be setting.

On the weekend I sent an email to the folks at RadioLink in China, explaining in some detail exactly how impressed I wasn’t with their section 6 for setting up quad multirotors. I did tell them I am using the Quadrino Nano FC and asked if they had any information specific to setting up the AT10II. Section 6 is tiny and sort of says to set things according to how you want them. That doesn’t help people like me who are new to this and don’t know what the defaults should be, much less what I want.

Sorry for the rant.

Tim

MultiWii give you many possibilities in term of settings modes.
Usually you do not have to use ATTI mode and just use a standard Plane profile in the Transmitter. That way you can assign AUX to each channels.

Hi DiaLFonZo

Ok, thanks for clarifying. There is certainly a lot of documentation for the Plane mode in the manual.

I should be able to sort that out.

Thanks so much for all your help!!

Hi:

Ok, I have switched the model type to AERO, reconfigured my end points and set the switches that I want to use on the transmitter.

My switch settings are showing properly in the flight control window.

I can activate the options that I want to activate.

Arming from the transmitter is working properly .

All motors are online and responding properly.

Everything looks great!!!

Thanks,

TimV

That’s good news…!!
