Dear Sir/Madam,
We have been using the rplidar A1 for a few days and just recently it began making a strange noise. It sounds like intermittent grinding, like grains of sand in between the spinning plate and the stationary one, its not loud per-se, but when one is next to it, one can hear it sort of clicking. It still works perfectly when we did a quick test to make sure. Its been in a clean environment and when not in use has been in its box, so we are not sure how anything could have gotten into it. Additionally, we aren’t too comfortable taking it apart enough to check to see if there’s anything there, unless we are given instructions on how to do so without breaking it. Is this a common problem? Could starting it back up for an extended period of time damage it? For reference we are using it with the raspberry pi and the adafruit python library.
Thank you for your continued help!
