Stepper motor for the pan tilt head?

First off, please forgive me if this is a nonsense question.

I’ve been looking at the pan tilt system (item # RB-Sct-06) It mentions that it can be used with Hitec servo motor - is there any problem in using it with stepper motors instead, and if so any recommendations on which one(s) would be the best?

Context - I’m building a motion control rig for stop motion animation. Camera is a DSLR just under 2 lbs.

Welcome to the RobotShop Forum. RB-Sct-06 is specifically designed for standard sized Hitec servo motors and cannot even be used with servos of other brands. There is no way it can be used with stepper motors. Hitec servos can be used for stop motion animation. Unfortunately at this time we don’t have any pan/tilt brackets for stepper motors.
