Stepper motor driver & motor to choose

I’ve purchased an a Elegoo UNO Atmega16u2 board & want to drive a stepper motor, for a small project (proof of concept).
Can you recommend which driver & motor to buy? It will ultimately need to raise a 5 lb weight using pullys or gears.
I know there are a lot of variables but I just need a place to start.
