Hi, I purchased some RB-Phi-267 bipolar stepper motors. A website says it needs to be driven by constant current or chopper driver controller.
Does it mean the Pololu A4988 Motor driver is OK?
Thanks.
Marc

Hi Marc,
Do you mean like the RB-Pol-176, RB-Pol-235 and the RB-Pol-273?
Unfortunately, they can only provide 1 A of continuous current (2 A peek). Therefore, you would need a beefier chip/controller for this motor.
Something like these might help: RB-Prr-05, RB-Pol-206.
Sincerely,
Thanks for reply. But I will set motor current at 1.6A, and I will put cooling sinks, such as a .5x.5 x 2 inch tall copper blockwith several long slots done with a band saw. I will see how cool it can be. But I am looking for a cooling fan towards the heat sinks that would already be electric noise free for digital devices. Any idea?
Hi,
You can find fans here. Most of them do not have an isolating circuit, so if you use them in from the same power source, make sure to add proper capacitors to remove or reduce the noise created.
Sincerely,
