I'm planning an Arduino workshop in the fall for 25 gifted middle school students. What projects would you recommend we start with?
How long is the workshop?
How long is the workshop? Will they be able to solder and build stuff or just plug things into a breadboard? Do you have a budget for parts?
It would be great if they can do a variety of projects.
A robotics project would be awesome, of course. However, it can be tough to keep costs down, and you’ll need to make or buy motor drivers or get/modify continous rotation servos. I imagine you don’t want the whole workshop focused on one project, but then again, I don’t know your goals. Maybe this one would do.
Sound and light projects are always fun. How about an LED Persistence of Vision (POV) project? Or a light organ?
If you can buy some LilyPads, you can do an LED badge or button, or something they can integrate into an item of clothing.
Try the MAKE Aduino page for some ideas.
