I was thinking about making the Start Here robot for a school project. I was wondering if I would be able to add an on/off switch to it? And If I could, how would I be able to do that? I don't know much about robotics so any help or answers will be very much appreciated. :)
Can anyone give me intructions on adding a power switch?
Thank you for your answers. They were very helpful, and I appreciate it. I will be building the start here robot soon. :)
Yes, you can add an on/off
Yes, you can add an on/off switch to it.
It’s very simple, however given the question I do recommend you reading about electricity and electronic basics. It will come in handy and will help you in the future.
From what I read
You should add your switch to the power lead from the battery. That way if anything grounds out in any way there should be no connections made for the battery.
I don’t know how much simpler it can get than cut the red wire, solder one of the bits of wire to one side of the switch, and, solder the other bit of wire to the other side of the switch.
