@GHARRYH1957 Welcome to the RobotShop Community. It’s best to power the servos via VS1 (VS2 if needed) and normally VL will be powered. Unlike the (older) SSC-32, VL on the SSC-32U does not normally need a separate power supply, so if you plug in 6V to VS1, VL will be powered automatically.

If you can tell us a bit more about the application / project, we can give you some suggestions. For example, if you plan to power normal 6V RC servos, the following wiring, battery and charger work well:
If you plan to use a 7.4V “High voltage” RC servo, a 2S LiPo is best.
