SSC-32U USB Servo Controller

Hello I bought the SSC-32U USB Servo Controller (lynxmotion.com/p-1032-ssc-32 … oller.aspx) but I have trouble connecting it. The servo sequencer utility doesn’t find it on auto mode however when I manually chose COM3 I get a connection for a few seconds and then the error message com port timed out please cycle the power and try again pops up. Any ideas?

I had to manually select the port and insure the baud rate was correct, as I recall.

Hi,

This usually is a sure sign of a baud rate issue. For compatibility with Bee modules, the SSC-32U is set to a baud rate of 9600 by default. But, the sequencer is set to a baud rate of 115200 by default.

Therefore, you have two options:

  1. Set the sequencer to a baud rate of 9600 too. First, set the port to OFF. Then, set the speed to 9600. Then, either set the port to AUTO or to the known COM port. This should allow you to connect properly.
See the attached image for more details.

  2. Set the SSC-32U to a different baud rate, like 115200. This can be done by using the baud rate button on the SSC-32U. You can read more details in the SSC-32U manual on page 37. You can get a direct link to it here.

Thanks guys, works now

I’m having this same problem. I verified 9600 baud rate using the method in the SSC-32U manual (the green LED flashes, which means 9600). Regardless of which baud rate I select in the servo sequencer software, I get the same result. LED A and RX1 blink around 10 times then there’s the error message “Com Port Timed Out! Please cycle the power and try again.”

I’ve tried other baud rates on both the hardware and software, but nothing seems to work.
