Hi
I have got my servo conected to the pc vial serial port with the power cable and 9v battery.
The SSC-32 board light is flashing when i send a command to it as it says in the online guide ( AL5A Information
1 Assembly Guide for Base v2
but the base doesnt seem to move.
im using the software that is used to test the base rotation and even tho the servo is showing that it is receiving the command there is still no output from the base?

The LED flashing means you are on the right serial port. But you could be sending data at the wrong baud rate. Can you type in VER and get the firmware revision returned?
How do you know the servo is receiving the commands?
If the SSC-32 is configured correctly and you are able to type in VER and get the proper reply, do you have a power supply connected to the VS terminals? That is what powers the servos.
When I type in vet I got the reply of the board name and the version number, I have made sure that the base is connected to port 0 and the light flashes when I move the bar on the programme up and down but the base doesn’t move

Like the online guide tells me I have a 9v battery connected to the board aswell as a 9v power adapter connected and yes I do get the proper reply when I type ver
The online guide tells you to connect a 9vdc battery to the VL terminals and 6vdc on the VS terminals. I have to ask if you have done it.
Do you have a volt meter? Can you measure any voltage on the pins where you plug in the red and black of the servo cables?
Do you have the black wires closest to the outside edge of the board?
I am going to get a voltmeter shortly when I do I will inform you of the out come but everything you said in the last message is correct
Another test you can do is to click all=1500 and try plugging in a servo in one location in each bank of 8. If the SSC-32 has a hardware problem with the shift registers connecting to a different bank may be a helpful troubleshooting step.
I have identified the problem and it is the HS-422 servo. I tested other servos and they have no priblem.
Glad you got it going. If it’s been less than 30 days since you purchased, we can replace the 422. We will have to have the defective one back though.
I purchased the product 09/24 from active robots could you please send me mailing information and what you require.
Also I noticed that the Hs- 422 is for the Al5a when I purchased the Al5d
Well that complicates matters a bit. The servos is only $12.99, so it’s difficult to justify sending it in international mail. We can still replace it, but we will have Active send it to you, and we will replace it in their next order. Will still need an order number so we can track it with Active. Please email the information to me.
