On the website it says that the SSC-32 supports Hitec and Futaba servos. However, when browsing other sites it says it can support other servo models as well (for example, JR servos).
I’d like to use the Pololu HD-1440A.
I’d think this would be compatible with the SSC-32 as it’s just an analog servo, however I just wanted to be sure by asking the forums first. Would I have any problems using the HD-1440A?
It apears to be just a standard r/c servo so it should work with the ssc-32 just like any other r/c servo.
Do not confuse analog vs. digital r/c servos with a robot servo having a digital interface such as the ax-12. A “digital” r/c servo has the same control interface as an analog r/c servo. The distinction is the electronics inside of the digital servo are driven by a small microcontroller rather than an analog circuit. The advantage to the digital r/c servo is a much higher update rate of the power driving the motor in the servo so they can produce higher torque, quicker response, and improved accuracy over an analog r/c servo using the same motor and gear train.
