SSC 32 U

Just a note I found that my unit really hates my joystick, and will pickup random inputs. The stick is a Saitek X52 sometimes is ok and others it is not.

But it will do bad things your servos go everywhere and often to max movement or they move randomly.

Unplugged the stick and everything is ok.

How do you have the joystick connected? To the SSC-32?

No the stick is via a hub to the PC and the SSC 32U was plugged in there. When the problem occurred I moved the SSC 32U to a separate port same problem.

Disconnecting the Stick resolves the problem

I suspect too many USB devices and too much driver software.

It is possible my SSC32U is flaky to it normally shows up as COM 8 but twice now showed up as Com 0 and could not be found.

Could be a firmware issue - but I have not seen a download for this to reload it.

If it helps Win 7 64 bit

On an Asus MB

Hooked up to USB 2.0 not 3.0

I am new to this piece of hardware, but I have seen this kind of interaction before.

Sometimes USB will change its port assignments if other devices are added/ removed.

Separating the two USB devices between different hubs/ports on the computer might help.

Alan KM6VV, thanks for the suggestions.

But it turns out I had 2 hardware issues, the bad one was a flaky USB hub providing “bouncy voltage” 4.5ish to 5 which coupled with both devices was generating the phantom movements.

I would note that hub was powering the 6 servos I had connected - so I really piled on the faults.

The Com 0 issue was a bad cable, must have had a damaged wire inside as moving the cable would kill data communication.

Replaced all the bad stuff and the board is very happy now, detects every time and no phantom movements.

So far I am very pleased with this board it works very well, the documentation is solid as well.
