SPT400 Tilt System for HS-5485HB Servo - correct advise

Hey guys,

I have recently purchased a spt400 with stock gearing to be used as a gimbal (drone) for a thermal imaging camera. Firstly the quality of the product is awesome. I purchased this on a hunch and pretty much just wanted to see how it went.

It works perfectly bar two things. Its reaction to compinsate drone movement and the speed of rotation is just a little too slow. I have it plugged into a naza mv2 f2 port which suplies the voltage and communication for it to compensate for a steady picture (pitch orientation)

I sort of knew this was going to happen and was just wondering what other parts i can order / require to get the speed increased on the gearbox and to increase reaction time.

Any advise would be great. And yes i have tried many brushless gimbles but i just love the look of this gearbox and only wanted a pitch adjustment as i enjoy the feel of roll diring fpv. Also i have found brushless cpu’s interfere with other instruments on my set up.

Thanks

Jake

The only real option is to change the gear ratio. We see you purchased RB-Sct-272 which has a 5:1 gear ratio. Given this, can you determine what gear ratio from the choices below would result in an acceptable speed for your application?
2:1
3:1
3.8:1

Once you know which gear ratio would work best, we will see if we can offer the two gears separately by special order.

Hi coleman thankyou so much. i believe 3:1 will be suitable.

Thank you. We’ll get back to you shortly.

You would need the following two gears:
