Works fine from this end of the wire…
WORK IN PROGRESS

Oh. I was going to say that it doesn’t look nearly as good as the original.
You haven’t actually seen it yet.
I need to send Dale a dimensioned drawing of the body plate; THEN he’ll be able to make up a plate with the legs at non-symmetric angles, and varying radii, as the PIX I posted in the IK list (not seen here yet).
Dale’s brief PDF posting was of a round body (the one I propose is anything but round); with servo brackets extending out, much like a CH3-R body plate.
EDIT: Here’s the general idea. Fits my 'bot board.

That was just a quickie I tossed together to see what the varied leg angles would look like. OK, so it was a bit more than a quickie. I had to create the axis for each leg tab on one side independent of the others, to get the angles right. Then I just mirrored the first side along the vertical axis of the sketch.

Looks cool!
What about attachment sites s for the front palps?

The front of the body I designed is left open for additions such as Carl’s mandible modification.

Hi,
Thanks for the kind words!
I thought about the palps when I did the first “concept” drawing, but it’s probably a little too much for now.

I was intending to make the front two legs with a 4th LPA joint added. Not sure if there is enough room for the coxa (HipH) swings. This CAD drawing (not dimensioned for the JPG) is a little over 8" x 8", which will need a slight reduction before I can mill it on my CNC’d Sherline mill. I have to use two setups as it is now.
Now if we had some “miniature” servos and SES brackes (hint), maybe we could!

I fixed the link to my 3D PDF to point to my latest version of the body Alan has supplied data for. As you will see, I have added a few things of my own, but not much. The very front hole mountings are meant for a pan/tilt camera. I also have a full size 3D Model that follows Alan’s drawing.
The body curves aren’t exact, but they are fully dimensioned and easily changed. I can also alter the leg mountings to any length as long as I redo the body curves.
I’ve even finished the first version of a set of legs for the full sized spider bot that has almost 100% custom designed parts. As you might expect, I have added my own twist to the leg design.

Yeah, that could work.
Although you have quite a bit of extension on the legs.
When will it be ready?

I am still tinkering with the tibia design.

I probably won’t ever get to build it, due to the cost of servos I would need.
