Hi mx5pr,

Welcome to the RobotShop Forum. The SPG800 series are dimensioned to fit the Hitec HS-805 servo, and it’s not worth trying to modify it for another servo. We can certainly authorize an RMA and exchange the gearbox, and apologize for any inconvenience. The SPG785A series does not include a potentiometer (standard) since the Hitec 785HB can rotate 3.5 turns. However, we can special order units which include an external potentiometer for 180, 360 and continuous rotation.

Hope this helps,

That is certainly allowed. The main difference between the version you ordered versus the replacement is that the replacement is made from a solid peice of metal, whereas the one you ordered required assembly and was made out of thick plastic. When you submit the RMA request, specify which product code you would like to exchange it for. If the new product costs more than the one you ordered, there my be additional charges.
