Speech recognition module on Rover V2

Hello!

I just got my DFRobotShop Rover V2 (XBee Kit). I read a post in instructables(instructables.com/id/Carlitos-Projects-Wireless-Speech-Controlled-Ard/)

And I’m wondering Can I use the “speech recognition module” to control the rover without buying additional “IO expansion shield” to the DFRobotShop Rover , since my rover has XBee in the PCB already.

That is certainly possible. The IO shield was only used to ease the connection of the modules but is not absolutely required.
