This is a capacitance sensor (switch), so it measures the change in capacitance when fluid is present. It could work on cold or frozen water but Iâm not sure if it would work with ice cubes because of the space between the cubes. Also, keep in mind that it is meant to be used outside a plastic container (not a metal one as this would change the capacitance) and the thickness of the container must be thin enough (13mm or less).
