I just bought a Sparki for a 10-yr-old. Will it work with Apple products?

Feel free to ask anything else.
It also won’t with a Mac’s Arduino application. I keep getting this error when I try to compile:
fork/exec /Users/rschildge/Library/Arduino15/packages/arduino/tools/avr-gcc/4.8.1-arduino5/bin/avr-g++: bad CPU type in executable
Error compiling for board ArcBotics Sparki.
If you have a solution, please post it.
