SparkFun order compilation

Well i've been saving up for another sparkfun order for a while. At the moment i only have a 28x1 w/ project board, one l293d, two motors, a sharp and a ping. Today i recieved two GM2s with some wheels and two more L293D's but i dont have another chip to use them with. Point and case i need some help picking up new parts.

Im ordering an additional 2 sharps (GP2Y0A21YK) four 8 pin Pics, two additional 40x1's they dont sell the x2's on sparkfun (or i just cant find them). I want to order either one or two simple LCD screens, some RX and TX units, and maybe another 28x1 or x2 just for those midrange projects.

Are there any LCD's you guys would reccomend? I know CTC has some nice ones with white type on a black background. Easy RX and TX units? Anything i should add to make this more future-proof?

edit: I also want eeproms, idk how to use them or what their for but i want them.

LCD

Modern Device has an awesome LCD set up. http://www.moderndevice.com/LCD.shtml

Any LCD you like, but…
Be very sure you get one labled “serial enabled”. Don’t get the LCD and “serial backpack” seperatly, just get the serial enabled one. Any of the RX/ TX units that are about 5 bucks do just fine -there is a trick to getting them to work properly, but we can get you going when you get them (don’t worry about the frequency, unless you get more than one set). Don’t forget stickers. I always get the pins that you plug servos into. Screw terminals are cheap and handy. Get an eeprom so you can start learning I2C -you only need one. A $5 playstation joystick is fun to play with. I dunno, that’s a good start. Sparkfun has all of it and good shipping.

lol the stickers are quite
lol the stickers are quite funny. I have a couple rows of the straight header pins but im ordering a few more. I have some old gamecube controllers i can probably grab joysticks from but it might be easier just to order them due to poor desoldering skills. Thanks for the advice.
