Solar Breeze NX2 - Looking for replacement front gears

The front paddlewheel and corner wheels on my Solar Breeze NX2 are not turning. I’ve taken it apart and the gears are worn. The front motor still works fine, but the white gear wheel attached to it and the black one next to it are worn and not connecting. Everything else turns fine when I turn it manually. Does anyone know where I can get the right size of replacement gears for these?

Hello @Celevision ,

Welcome to the RobotShop community.

The problem may come from the motor itself and not the gears.

We regret to inform you that the Solar Breeze model, as well as some of its replacement parts, including the motors, are no longer available. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has ceased operations, and consequently, these components can no longer be supplied.

However, we do have the gears available if that is what you need.

We can help you analyze your problem more thoroughly to determine whether it is only the gears or the motor that are defective.

Please let us know what you would like to do.

Kind regards,

Yes please i went back online, asking the same question, and I saw my own post again. Lol. Please help

Hello @Celevision ,

When the robot is running, please gently press on the paddle with your hand. If you hear the motor continuing to run but the paddle is not rotating, it is likely that the motor is defective.

This could indicate that the internal gears of the motor are no longer engaging properly.

You can also check this by opening the robot into two sections. Here is a video that will help you open the robot:
How To Replace The Front Motor:

How To Replace A Rear Motor:

Once the robot is open, turn it on and observe the external gear of the motor. Gently press on it with your finger:

If the gear does not rotate despite the sound of the motor running, it confirms that the motor is spinning freely and the internal gears are likely damaged.

Please keep us informed of your findings.

Best regards,
