Software update?

I’d like to get back to fussing with a Lynx 6 Robotic Arm that I’ve not even looked at since 2008.
It all worked nicely back then, but the software that came with the kit doesn’t run on the computer I have now, the only screen after booting being:

RIOS SSC-32
Error readingComComboBox1->ComProperty; Registry error (win error code: 2)

The computer I have now runs under Windows 10, and the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter doesn’t get things going.

Would a newer version of the software be available? What I have now is a CD labelled:

Lynxmotion
RIOS for
SSC-32
Ver. 1.05

Hi Terry,

Here are answers to your questions and comments (in-line):

That sound great! You most likely have a kit that uses the old [RB-Lyn-100]. Please note that a newer controller is available that offers better stability and a direct USB interface. It is the [RB-Lyn-850]. If you ever happen to need a power supply replacement for your arm, please note that we not use the RB-Hap-01.

The error you mention is due to a library missing. This means you would need to run the full setup from the original CD. The files available online are only an update and not the full software.

Please note this software has been discontinued for a few years and was never tested on Window 10 and may not work at all, depending on many factors.

Please see this post here.

Sincerely,
