So much servos and motors

There are so much of then, I can’t choose…
I’ve made a soccer robot with continious rotation servo’s: too slow.
Then I made a bracket with speed*3 gears, still too slow.

The wheel diameter is 4 cm, 1.8 inch.
The speed has to be about 14 inch per second.
I’ve got two powersupply’s:
6V - 2.4A
9V - 300mA

The servos/motors have to carry about 2kg.

I was hoping you could give me some advice!
Thanks!

Using C=pi*D, it looks like you need a motor that turns at ~150 rpm, or ~2.5 rev per sec. The below motor looks pretty strong, so it might be worth a look. You would probably need a pretty good sized battery pack.

Voltage = 9.6vdc
RPM = 271
Reduction = 51:1
Stall Torque = 6.27 ft-lbs (86.69 kg-cm)
Motor Type = 36mm OD LS-540S

thats a lot of torque on that gearhead zoomkat, seems a bit unnecessary…

Oh, Its a powerful beast! There pretty big too, so I’d be concerned about how much space you have and how much this takes up :wink:

wait he’s hauling more than 4 pounds, i take that comment back!

Well, tomorow I can say you exactly how much kg the body is, it fits in a 22 cm circle. (8.67 inch)
What about Gear Head Motor - 6vdc 60:1 210rpm
I think a motor with a size of 10x6 cm doesn’t fit in an omnidirectional 22cm frame. (the wheels are 4x3 cm)

Any of the 37mm spur gear motors should do well carting a 2kg bot around. Just choose the one with the fastest RPM you need. There is a program on the website that can calculate the vehicle speed from the RPM and wheel diameter.

What power supply and motor controller are recommended for 3 motors?

Just add up the stall current for the three motors you want to use and chose the Syren motor controller with the current required to run the motors. If they will never come close to stalling then you can go a little lower. The SyRen 10 would probably do just fine.
