Snap maker 3-1 Questions Before I Buy

Hi!

I have a question about the snapmaker 3-1. I run a small watch business and we offer customers engraving. On average we engrave about 5 watches a day. the backs are stainless steel so we use the laser annealing process.

My questions are;

  1. Is this machine suitable for this volume of engraving?
  2. Is it easy to set up and calibrate so that the engraving sticks as we had a lot of trouble with our current machine at the start?
    3 can I upload PNG files to the laser?

Thanks, Carl

Hello @Belshc1986,

Sorry for the late reply.

Here are the specifications for the Laser engraver of the Snapmaker:

LASER ENGRAVING

  • Work Area: 125 x 125 mm
  • Laser Power: 200mW
  • Supported File Types: SVG, JPEG, PNG, PDF, etc.
  • Supported Materials: Wood, bamboo, leather, plastic, fabric, paper, non-transparent acrylic, and so on.

As you can see, it doesn’t really work on materials such as stainless steel.

However, you can contact the manufacturer and confirm with them.
