I am interested in the following smart servo motor: HerkuleX DRS-0101 Smart Robot Servo (Product Code : RB-Das-05) and I’d like to know if it can be controlled using arduino and matLab?

Yes it can, but there is no official sample code available from the manufacturer. You would need to figure out how to wire it and how to communicate with it based on the user manual.
