Small Chain Motor Driver

I need to find 2 motors to drive 2 separate small roller chains. The requirements for each motor are:

12V or 24V
Motor a) Speed: 30rpm (constant) Power: 10W-20W
Motor b) Speed: 90rpm (constant) Power: 20W (min)

I was considering using:
Cytron 12V, 60rpm, 93oz-in Gear Motor w / Encoder
and
24V, 185rpm , 150oz-in Brushless DC Gear Motor
or
Devantech 12V, 30:1 Gear Motor w / Encoder

Which of these would be most suitable for my application. I was also wondering what motor controller would be compatible with the motors.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Mark

Yea I kinda realised those ones didnt have enough power… so I’m gonna go with this motor instead.

Devantech 24V, 49:1 Gear Motor w / Encoder
Product code : RB-Dev-38

Does this motor come with a mounting bracket? I’m trying to attach the motor to an 80/20 frame.

Hmm I found the 24V robot drive system with everything I need packaged together. Won’t need the wheels though! Can I specify that I don’t want them in my order? or should I just take them anyways?

For the Cytron motor, you would need a 12V, ~5A+ DC motor controller. However, if you don’t plan to run it too hard, you can get away with a 2A controller. The rated torque is 110g-cm/ 6mm shaft diameter. 7W.
For the Devantech motor, you need a 12V, ~2A controller and the rated torque is 1500g-cm. 5mm shaft diameter. 4.5W.

The two are very similar, though neither is 20W min. You’d need a different motor.

We sell the components separately as well; motor, bracket, wheel, hub, controller. You can find them all on the Devantech page.
